Commonwealth Bank of Australia has announced changes to its Executive Leadership Team, appointing Victoria Ledda as Group Chief Information Officer and Rodrigo Castillo as Group Chief Technology Officer.
The appointments will take effect from 1 July 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.

Two Executive Technology Roles Created
The bank said the changes reflect the scale and importance of its technology agenda as digital, data and artificial intelligence capabilities become more central to banking operations, customer experience and resilience.
Under the updated leadership structure, CommBank is creating two senior executive technology roles with separate areas of accountability.
Victoria Ledda, as Group Chief Information Officer, will lead business-aligned technology strategy and delivery across the group.
Rodrigo Castillo, as Group Chief Technology Officer, will lead enterprise technology foundations, engineering, security and AI capabilities that support the bank.
Technology Delivery and Enterprise Foundations
CommBank Chief Executive Officer Matt Comyn said the appointments are intended to support focused leadership across both technology delivery and the enterprise platforms that support the broader group.
The bank said the new model is designed to strengthen accountability, accelerate technology delivery and support safe, resilient and reliable technology for customers.
Both Ledda and Castillo will report directly to the CEO and join CommBank’s Executive Leadership Team.
Victoria Ledda’s Background
Victoria Ledda joined CommBank in 2021 and has held senior technology leadership roles at the bank, including Executive General Manager, Institutional Banking & Markets Technology and Executive General Manager, Retail Technology.
She was appointed interim Co-Chief Information Officer of Business Technology in November 2025.
Before joining CommBank, Ledda spent 15 years at Goldman Sachs across London, New York and Sydney. Her work included senior engineering and technology leadership roles, global digital platform transformation, public cloud adoption and operational improvement programs.
She is also an Executive Board Member of CommSec and sits on the Mastercard Advisory Board.
Rodrigo Castillo’s Background
Rodrigo Castillo joined CommBank in 2023 as Chief Technology Officer and was appointed interim Co-Chief Information Officer, Central Technology in November 2025.
Before joining CommBank, Castillo held senior Chief Information Officer and Managing Director roles at HSBC, where he worked on digital transformation and technology modernisation programs across international markets.
CommBank said Castillo has experience implementing modern engineering practices, including agile delivery and DevSecOps, and has overseen the deployment of generative and agentic AI capabilities across engineering and the wider business.
CommBank’s Technology Focus
The leadership update comes as major banks continue to invest in digital platforms, data infrastructure, AI capabilities, cybersecurity and operational resilience.
For CommBank, the split between a Group CIO role and a Group CTO role gives the bank separate executive focus on business technology delivery and the core technology foundations that support enterprise-scale banking systems.
